Cascade Power Group Internship Program - Spring 2012 Quarter
Cascade Power Group’s annual internship program is open for Spring 2012 (April - June). We are seeking individuals who are passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy. One of our core ideologies is to allow one’s interests, passion, and dedications to drive his or her work. We hope to provide valuable education and relevant hands-on experience for our interns, which will become an asset to their academic and professional career. Cascade Power Group intends to provide qualified individuals with future employment or work.
Internship Details
Cascade Power Group internships are true “green jobs” opportunities that cover a wide range of cutting-edge interests, projects and policies all centered on energy conservation and renewable energy. Interns will have a unique opportunity to be involved in a variety of aspects of the energy industry and have an immediate impact during their tenure at CPG. With the experience our internship will provide, individuals will be able to 'hit the ground running' when graduating from school and applying for new career-level jobs. By gaining access to valuable contacts and industry information, Cascade Power Group interns can begin to build a career tackling the major issues that face the energy industry today and in the future.
Position Available & Qualifications
Cascade Power Group has a very dynamic and energetic working environment, and therefore a diversity of roles and skill sets will fit in different aspects of our work:
- Business Development and Marketing
Responsibilities:
Assist with publications and marketing, website management/maintenance, preparation of business documents, and other delegated tasks related to business development. Ideal candidates should be students or those looking to develop their marketing, business development, and administrative trade skills.
Qualifications:
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills - writing and verbal. Though we are open to less experienced candidates, experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS5, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, graphic design, web design, software programming, and market research is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
Main focus is energy efficiency and renewable energy project management. Conduct technical reviews, review project documents, financial reviews, and regulatory items for project, close outs, etc. Assist with project management and development on site at our client in Redmond as well as in our Bellevue location.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should have a background in or wish pursue construction management, mechanical, civil engineering, or project management. Background in energy is highly desired, but not mandatory. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills - writing and verbal.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Collect, analyze, and track energy use and cost data/ Energy Performance benchmarking/ Manage and update database and online portfolio/ Prepare monthly energy reports and project documents. Other delegated tasks related to energy analysis. Qualifications:
The ideal candidates should be studying environmental science or related field. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, ability to self-manage and work independently, good communication skills – writing and verbal.
Team
Intern will work closely with our support team with projects related to marketing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and programs. Intern(s) will also receive mentoring and support by the CPG support team.
Schedule
We would like successful applicant(s) to start this three-month internship as soon as possible, but our staff is flexible to accommodate whose needs warrant them.
Benefits
This internship is not paid, however interns that have contributed substantially to the company will be eligible for a $500 bonus at the end of the internship. Credits may be earned through your college or university, and state credit programs may be utilized as part of internship.
Most of the interns also receive a reference letter from our company. Cascade Power also intends to provide recommendation and referral if any career opportunity is encountered. Many of our past interns have advanced their academic and professional career through the internship experience with us, such as becoming an RCM in training for one of our clients.
